A ticket to ride

Pedicabs.jpgChallenge:

  • Manage a fleet of pedicabs for a single 8 hour shift, generating more revenue than the other team.

Project Mgrs: Protégé - Troy , Versacorp - Bill.

    Summary: Kwame-cab.jpg

  • Protégé developed and sold cards for 10 pedicabs rides
  • Protégé also offered the pedicab drivers and incentive program where the driver with the most sales at noon and at the end of the day got $100.
  • Kwame went out and drove a pedicab to generate revenue while Troy and Heidi went out to sell the prepaid ride cards to Hotels and Tourist spots.
  • After Kwame had no success getting passengers and Troy & Heidi got repeated requests to come back in a week, Troy suggested a revamp of their approach to "Have Fun". So they all jumped into a pedicab and whooped it up.
  • Versacorp decided to leverage their relationships from past challenges and sell advertising on the pedicabs.
  • After one restaurant's advertising got destroyed, Nickunilaterally decided to reemburse the restaurant the full $250 they paid.
  • Katrina & Amy dressed in Marquis Jet teeshirts and drove pedicabs leveraging the "beautiful women" angle again.

Winners: Protégé with $3680 revenue primarily from advertising. Versacorp came in with only $382.
Reward: A sail around Manhattan for the winning team.

    3 in Boardroom:
boardroom-10.jpgWell actually only 2 this time. Since there were only 3 on the team, Troy was asked to pick one to join him in the final fire decision session.
    Troy
    Heidi
    Fired: Heidi

    Boardroom antics:

  • They went in "strong as a team, but as always, each of them were asked who they thought did the least for this challenge.
  • Kwame was flying under the radar for most of the initial session, until Trump pointedly asked him if any of them had driven a pedicab and how it went. At that point Kwame was no longer under the radar...
  • Troy was taken aback and stumbled when Trump asked him to pick one of the two to join him in the firing session.
  • Heidi called Troy a *bleeped* name when they were waiting for the final decision.
  • Carolyn said she felt Heidi hadn't shown her anything, and then Trump had her repeat it in front of Heidi.
  • Troy pointed out that his team had repeatedly praised him for being a leader and everyone in the boardroom, but Troy, pointed out that no one had praised Heidi for being a leader.

    Protégé gossip:

  • Not much gossip this episode, except that Troy may have made the same mistake Ereka did in selecting loyalty/friendship over performance and this could be his downfall.

    Versacorp gossip:

  • Nick & Amy were back at it on the sailing boat, but the flirting is also starting to include some strategic manouvering for the game.
  • Katrina & Bill had a face-to-face over Bill's leadership style and the plan to leverage Amy & Katrina's attractiveness for increased sales.

So the question again is Will there be another shuffle of teams next week or ... will it move to individual performance?

What is your definition of "success"?
I would define success as being happy and satisfied professionally and personally.

Who do you admire most (personally and/or professionally)?
Professionally I admire HOWARD STERN: Howard is the King of All Media...enough said.

Personally, I admire my grandmother. She came to America with nothing and has managed to live her life to the fullest. She worked very hard to provide for her family and make sure they were taken care of. She is also the only 92-year-old woman who still likes to play golf, tennis and work out.

What cartoon character do you most relate to and why?
The cartoon character I can relate with the most is Angelica Pickles from the Rugrats. Angelica appears to be sweet and innocent, however, when she wants something she can be really bossy and mean. She does not take crap from anyone and if she cannot get something on her own she will find a way for someone to get it for her. She is determined and feisty.
